Fallout Series

Fallout Series game preview
The Fallout Series puts a lot more emphasis on your choices. While all are set in a post-apocalyptic world, the original entries before the 3rd entry feature isometric 2D turn-based gameplay. Once Bethesda bought the franchise, they decided to switch perspective and continue the series in 3D, placing you in open-worlds full of diverse enemies and interesting quests to accomplish. The V.A.T.S. system puts everything in slow motion and lets you lock on to specific body parts of your target, showing also how much chances you have in for example: getting a headshot. With the exception of Fallout 76 which is an online-only game, the Fallout franchise features great open-worlds to explore with tons of quests where your decision can matter.

Dying Light

Dying Light game preview
Dying Light is one of, if not the best zombie-infested open-world game out there. Not only does it equip you with gritty, mostly melee-focused combat in first-person, but it also lets you fluidly parkour your way throughout the quarantined city. There’s even a grappling hook you can use to get to higher vantage points. Searching for materials for crafting at day is of course, much safer than doing so at night. When it’s night in Dying Light, it’s time to get back to a safe zone, as the infected turn into super-powered monsters that can run and climb as fast as you can. You don’t have to progress through the great campaign alone; instead, you can actually play it in 4-player co-op, which is a lot of fun.

Homefront Series

Homefront Series game preview
The two installments in the Homefront series are quite distinct from each other. While both of them are FPS titles and both of them have you work with guerilla forces to fight Korean soldiers occupying America, the first one is short and linear, but the other one is open-world and much longer. Homefront: The Revolution, due to its open-world nature, also opens up more variety in gameplay, letting you strategically engage in various battles. The second entry built using CryEngine also features customizable weapons, allowing you to use things such as silencers to approach your situation more stealthily. Not to mention side missions, Homefront: The Revolution is a much more in-depth FPS compared to Homefront, but that doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy the first one.
